Artist's Notes: Vestal Peak is reflected in a calm beaver pond along the Elk Creek drainage in the Weminuche Wilderness of the San Juan Mountains, Colorado. This was shot the first evening of a six day backpacking trip circumnavigating the Needles and Grenadier subranges. As it turned out, it was our only storm-free evening of the trip until the last night.
